In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model characterized by a slim case, narrow indices, and a steel bracelet. Its wide horizontal lug, typical of the era, was perfectly integrated into the flat tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. "PR" stands for "precise" and "robust." The "X" stands for the Roman numeral ten and the pressure of 10 bar that the watch can withstand. In 2021, Tissot introduced the PRX 40205, a modern version of the previous model. The stainless steel 316L case of the Tissot PRX 40205 has a diameter of 40 mm. It has a slightly tonneau shape and is adorned with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets. The Tissot PRX 40205 Quartz features a dial with a black or blue sunburst pattern combined with nickel-plated indices and hands. There is also a variant with a satin silver-gray dial with rose gold indices and hands, a color combination reminiscent of the late 1970s. The flexibility and softness of the links make it a true success in ergonomic design and provide extraordinary comfort. The hands of the PRX 40 205 are coated with SuperLumiNova® and are positioned one on top of the other with minimal spacing. This allows the dial to be brought closer to the watch glass. The optical effect achieved by Tissot's designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and thinner than it actually is.
